W6-33 Aging in Place: What Every Interior Designer Needs to Know
The majority of our clients want to stay in their homes as they age, but the primary reason they cannot age in place is that their homes can no longer sustain them. As the number of older adults continues to grow, interior designers have a unique opportunity and responsibility to understand and promote design solutions that support clients as their needs change over time. This panel discussion, brought by a diverse mix of architects and designers, seeks to inform and inspire interior designers regarding interior design strategies for aging in place. The discussion will include best practices, resources, inspirational images from recent projects, and will provide a take-home aging in place design checklist and resource list.
